Balm Balm products are all made around a simple wax and oil formulation. All our
ingredients are 100% natural and 100% organic. ‘Natural' makes them easily
absorbed by the skin and ‘organic' makes them safe to be absorbed.
We are thrilled with the result. A wonderful, natural alternative to petroleum
jelly products that is as kind to the environment as it is to you.
Balm Balm Defined by the English Oxford Dictionary
Balm • noun 1 a fragrant ointment used to heal or soothe the skin. 2 something
that soothes or heals.
Origin Old French
basme, from Latin balsamum ‘balsam'

Lip Balm is the one toiletry product which cannot help but be ingested, yet the
market has been dominated by Petroleum Jelly based products - and who wants to
eat mineral oils? These petroleum based lip balms just sit on your lips and
basically, form a barrier whereas Balm Balm is 100% natural & organic and
moisturises your skin. It means you do not have to reapply so often, leaving
your you more time to do much more interesting things with your time!
You might find the texture of Balm Balm a little unusual to begin with. Creams
that are usually applied to the face usually have water in them. Water is fine,
but in order to preserve a product that contains water, petrochemicals are used.
We haven't used any water which means that we don't have to use any
petrochemicals which means that all our products are really good for you. This
results in a ‘balm' like texture, thus the name Balm Balm. We simply tweak the
ratio of waxes to oils to make our products ‘harder' for our Lip Balms or
‘softer' for our Face Balms.
Tips & Uses
Have fun with
your Balm Balm - it is natural and organic and above all, versatile.
Here are some great ideas, but we're sure you will come up with some of
your own.
Balm balms are
multifunctional and can be used all over. Some of our tips
apply to all Balm Balms, others to the ones in pots or fragrance free
variets only. Any queries just email us
balmbalm@eoco.org.uk and we'll get
straight back to you. Have fun!
Keep it Cool!
Being 100% natural, our products like to be kept cool (below 30 degrees C
is best). If they do overheat they will melt or separate which is not
really a problem as they will firm up again once cooled. A little oil may
remain at the base of tubes but it is all good stuff so simply use the oil or
discard it and continue using the remaining balm if you prefer. If your
balm balm has melted, dont worry - just pop them in the fridge and they
will soon harden up again.
Gritty is good! If Balm Balm cools too
rapidly it will sometimes become a little grainy, this is the wax showing off!
It will melt with the warmth of yoru skin and provides and interesting texture. It is simply due to the lack of
nasty chemical emulsifiers so enjoy the grittiness, knowing that it is Balm
Balm's little way of reminding you it is completely natural.
Bath - take a grape sized amount of any balm balm
and dissolve it into your bath to soften the water and your skin.
Cleanser - apply Balm Balm liberally and remove with a tissue,
cotton wool or better still, a warm damp muslin cloth. Fragrance
free balms can be used to remove eye makeup too!
Exfoliator
- Melt your Balm Balm a little by
warming it. Add a little salt or brown sugar and gently massage
into your skin. Remove with warm water and a cloth for a glowing
complexion.
Natural
Perfume - If you would like to add a little flavour to your Fragrance Free Lip Balm, try
this…….. Remove Balm Balm lid and place jar in microwave* for 60 seconds or until
melted through. Add just 2-4 drops of your favourite essential oil or food
flavouring. Stir with the end of a teaspoon. Put lid back on and place in the
fridge to re set. Dab onto pulse points when the mood
takes you! *stand balm balm in a bowl of hot water instead - we really think
microwaves are only good for warming hot-paks & beddy bears!
Breathe Easy -
If you are suffering from a blocked nose or any kind of congestion try this……
Remove Fragrance Free Lip Balm lid and place jar in microwave for 60 seconds or
until melted through. Add two drops of eucalyptus or pine essential oil. Stir
with the end of a teaspoon. Put lid back on and place in the fridge to re set.
Under
cover skincare -
Use underneath foundation or lipstick for a flawless complexion as Balm Balm will allow your
foundation to smooth over skin more easily and dilute it just enough to give it
a really naturally look. Your very own tinted moisturiser or lip gloss!.
Cuticles - Rub a little Balm Balm into cuticles and nails and leave for a few minutes
before gently pushing cuticles down with an orange stick. Balm Balm will soften
cuticles and condition nails.
Baby
Love - for babies under 2 years of age, take fragrance free
balm balm (lip balm or baby balm) and add 1 drop of essential oil to 7ml
tubs or 3 drops to 30ml tubs. Use chamomile and or/lavender
essential oil to soothe & calm.
Cradle Cap
Warm a little Fragrance Free Lip or Face Balm between your finger tips and
gently rub into baby's scalp.
No need to wash out as Balm Balm is perfectly safe and will continue to
condition & nourish flaky skin.
Bottoms - Babies that is.....No need to lug about big tubs of baby cream. When you're out & about use
Fragrance Free Lip or Face Balm on baby's bottom. It will nourish, condition &
protect delicate skins and you only need to use a tiny amount.
Eyebrows & Hair -
Are they wild & unruly? Keep them in place with a dab of Balm Balm.
KT
Tunstall "I love it and use it as a hair shiner"
Eyelashes -
Try Fragrance Free Lip or Face Balm on your eyelashes & delicate skin around
your eyes each evening to condition and nourish as you sleep.
Heels & Elbows -
On your feet all day? Resting your elbows on your desk all day? Hard skin is the
result and nothing is a greater reflexion of age than 'crusty' skin on heels &
elbows! Rub Balm Balm into them regularly and notice the difference in just a
few days.
Hayfever - Balm Balm makes a brilliant neutral barrier for pollen
& dust. Rub a little under your nose to help clear unwelcome
allergens. (also eat a teaspoon a day of locally produced honey)
