Delivery & Shipping Information
We offer 4 shipping options to choose from:
2nd class (3-5 working days from despatch
1st class post (1-2 days)
EXPRESS which we require EITHER a signature or a safe place, this cannot be a timed delivery but anytime between 8am and 6pm).
OVERNIGHT this is despatched same day but delivered NEXT WORKING DAY so if you order on a Friday before 4pm your order should arrive MONDAY anytime between 8am and 6pm and signature or safe place required.
1st or 2nd class post are not traceable and any losses or reported non-deliveries require that at 15 working days has elapsed (Royal Mail Policy) before we can send replacements - you will also be required to fill out our non-delivery declaration form.
Orders are processed quicker on the internet, than by telephone
Please note that we only ship within the UK.
POSTAGE & PACKING charges vary based on approx weights - £2.95, £3.95 and £5.90 maximum postage PER ORDER (not item). Overnight Charge is £7.50 regardless of weight.
Why do we need to know a safe place to leave the goods.....?
It will save you a lot of hassle and potentially the need for you to collect your parcel from the depot. Generally if postage is calculated at £5.90 or the parcel is over 1.5Kg or you request Express Delivery - we are likely to deliver by courier (even if you choose 1st class post ) so PLEASE specify leave safe area (at your risk) such as porch, recycling box, unlocked garage or greenhouse etc- doing so means you do not have to wait in all day for delivery and the driver will leave it where you have specified at time of ordering if you are not there to sign. You will also be carded to let you know it's been delivered. If you want the goods signed for please supply an address which is occupied all day such as work address.
If you do not specify a safe place, after the second attempt at an unoccupied address you will be carded to collect from the City Link depot - you cannot rearrange delivery after the 2nd attempt unless you pay the re-delivery surcharge. If there is a day you know you will be home put that in the Special Instructions. We can deliver to alternative addresses such as neighbour or work, please specify at order point. Phone 01256 332737 if you have placed your order and want to change the delivery details. We usually despatch same day so please call us as soon as you can!
Deliveries can be anytime between 8am and 6pm if they are despatched by City Link. If you require a timed delivery please ring for a quotation. We cannot specify morning or afternoon on standard courier deliveries.
Please note that the above does not apply to non-express items which weigh less than 1.5Kg and can go via Royal Mail and courier/express deliveries are only applicable for UK mainland.
Many items that weigh under 1.5kg are despatched by Royal Mail who do not often follow delivery instructions as its against company policy - so they will leave a card for you to collect if they call when you are out (or you can rearrange delivery with them). We appreciate that some postmen/women will leave parcels for you - and we do highlight delivery instructions but we cannot guarantee they will follow this. If you have not received your parcel in good time please contact your local post office who may be holding it for you.

We can do an Express Delivery (1-2 working days, excludes weekends) for £5.90 up to 25Kg delivered either via City Link or Special Delivery - depending on size & weight (must be a signed for address OR you will need to specify a leave safe area for City Link if you are not there during the day to sign).

Many of the products that we buy in from other companies are not available at trade prices, discounts are mainly on our own branded oils, carriers oils & candles with some exceptions.

Returns & Refunds
No goods will be accepted back without permission from the Company. If there is no fault by the Company or no fault with the goods, a 10% handling and re-stocking charge may be made. Goods will be returned at the expense of the purchaser and proof of posting should be obtained.
Notwithstanding any statutory obligations The Essential Oil Company Ltd. operates an unconditional policy to accept return of goods provided:-
Goods are of a reusable and a re-saleable nature and have not been manufactured to a specific requirement unless the cause of the return is a result of non-conformity to an agreed specification.
Goods have not been tampered with, contaminated or otherwise rendered unusable.
Goods are still contained within the original undamaged packaging and identifiable as being of our manufacture.
The Buyer is obliged to check the goods delivered before using them in any other process and in particular this check will have to refer to the state and identify of the goods delivered with reference to the goods sold. If the Buyer cannot prove having executed this check, he will have forfeited any right on claims.
The Essential Oil Company Ltd. reserve the right to replace or credit the value of the goods returned at our discretion. The cost of return carriage will generally be at the Buyers cost and refunds will be less original shipping costs and re-stocking charges may apply if goods not received in the original saleable condition.
By law, customers located in the European Union also have the right to withdraw from the purchase of an item within seven working days of the day after the date the item is delivered. For more information see Your Statutory Rights.
Where you are withdrawing from your purchase within the seven working day cooling-off period you must notify us by email immediately and despatch the goods to reach us within seven days of the day after you received them. Where there has been no error on our part, we will refund the cost of the item and the cost of sending the item to you
